Youth Tigers need 298 runs to win

Sports Reporter, Dhaka

Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket Team required 298 on the fourth and final day of the second youth Test to triumph the two-match youth Test series over visiting England Colts at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram yesterday.

The tourists’ bowling battery restricted youth Tigers to paltry 228 in their first innings following the Colts’ first innings total 337. Kasey Aldridge and George Baldersen shared seven spoils between them. Aldridge gave away 44 runs to claim four-for, while Baldersen conceded 40 runs to grab three wickets for the Colts.

The visitors, therefore, played 54 overs to put on 223 on the board at the cost of eight wickets, where Jamie Smith contributed 104 before declaring their second innings that set 332 for youth Tigers to win the Test. Minhazur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers who snapped up four wickets for 74.

Bangladesh youth scored 34 for one in the second innings to finish the day third and needed another 298 while they have a day in hand and nine wickets to spare.
