Dhaka happy to regain momentum

Sports Reporter, Sylhet

Despite their defeat in the previous match, Dhaka Dynamites were confident of regrouping well to hit back into the winning-way that proved to be preciously right.

They showed that kind of ruthless performance that made them a pre-tournament favourite and helped them win four straight matches with vigor and panache. It was still possible despite the absence of team’s key player Keiron Pollard who was ruled out of the match with groin injury and is highly likely to not take part at least for some matches.

The situation was worsened when hat-trick hero off-spinner Aliss Islam hobbled off the ground after delivering one over against Sylhet Sixers. But Dhaka has a superman in skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who possesses the ability to crush any team with both batting and bowling on his given day.

And Sylhet Sixers faced Dhaka Dynamites at their home den on such day when Shakib was at his ruthless best. His incredible 41 ball-61 not out helped the side knock off the target with three balls to spare before he claimed two for 34, including the crucial wicket of David Warner to restrict Sylhet in chase-able total and thereby scripted the side’s facile six-wicket victory.

“Everyone knows what he can do on his day,” said Nurul Hasan Sohan, the wicket-keeper of Dhaka Dynamites. “In bowling he took the wicket of David Warner, what we badly needed and nothing to say of his batting. It was purely a match winning innings.”

Sohan said they are happy to regain the momentum what seemed to have lost after their defeat to Rajshahi Kings by 20 runs in the last match.
