Woman burned to death
UNB, Noakhali

An elderly woman was burned to death when a fire broke out at her house in Bhoshbagh area of Kabirhat upazila on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Nasima Khatun, 60, wife of Abu Bakar Siddique of the village. The fire broke out at the house when a gas cylinder exploded around 10 pm and spread soon, said Sub-inspector Abdul Wadud of Kabirhat Police Station. All but Nasima managed to came out from the house. Later, police recovered the charred body from the ashes, he added.


Schoolboy found dead
UNB, Cumilla

Police recovered the body of a schoolboy at Barkamta village in Debidwar upazila on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Joy Chandra Ghosh, 15, a Class VII student of Chandina Pilot High School and son of Amar Chandra Ghosh of Nabiabad village in the upazila. Zahirul Anwar, officer-in-charge of Debidwar Police Station, said locals found an arm of a human dumped under the soil near a temple in the village. Later, they informed it to police. Joy had remained missing since January 14.

College student dies after falling from rooftop
BSS, Rangpur

A female college died after falling from the rooftop of her house in Syedpur town in Nilphamari early yesterday. She was identified as Sristi Rani, 19, a student of first year (honours) at Rangpur Carmichael College and daughter of Bipul Chandra of the area, said  OC of Syedpur Police Station Shahjahan Pasha. The incident occurred when Rani was talking over cell phone on the rooftop and  fell down on the streets.
