BNP should join parliament: Anisul

Law to confiscate war criminals’ assets in final stage
UNB, Brahmanbaria

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq yesterday said the elected members of parliament (MPs) of the BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront should join the parliament. “BNP has enough time to join the parliament after taking oath…otherwise people will see what consequences are waiting for them,” he told journalists at Akhaura before attending a reception at Kasba of his constituency in Brahmanbaria.

He added: “I think, the good sense of BNP will wake up and they will join the House”. Replying a question, Anisul said the work on law for confiscating the assets of war criminals’ family members was started last year and now it will be finalised. About the recent report of TIB on the last general election, the law minister said: “I’ve not read the report yet. After getting the report in my hand, I will make comment on it”.

Akhaura municipality mayor Taqjil Khalifa Kajal, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mohammad Shamuzzaman, upazila Awami League convener Principal Mohammad Joynal Abedin, municipality Juba League president Monir Khan, its general secretary Abu Kawsar Bhuiyan and AL leader Advocate Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan were, among others, present. In the afternoon, Anisul joined a reception programme.
