SUST winter vacation begins Dec 18

UNB, Shahjalal University

The winter vacation of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will begin from December 18 (Tuesday). The academic activities of the university will resume on January 1 while the administrative activities on December 26, said a press releases issued by the university.

Three-day victory fair begins at JU

A three-day victory fair began yesterday on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus here. Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of the university organised the fair on the central cafeteria premises to mark the Victory Day.

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons as the chief guest around at 12 pm.

Addressing the function, she urged to become united on behalf of the power of Liberation War to continue the development and democracy of the country. Presided over by Director of JU TSC Prof Bashir Ahmed, JU Treasurer Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq addressed the function as special guest. Senior Professor Dr Md Farhad Hosssain, President of Provost Committee Professor Sohel Ahmed and JU Proctor Shikder Md Zulkarnine and teachers as well as students of different departments were present at the inaugural session of the fair. Later, she inaugurated a photography exhibition on the Liberation War of Bangladesh at the central cafeteria premises. In the fair, around 32 stalls of different items including different types of sweets, verities of foods, cloths for male and female have been set up.

The fair will end on December 17.
