An Impress Aviation helicopter crashed in Godagari upazila in Rajshahi with Channel I Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar and five others on board. However Sagar and his fellow passenger Farzana Brownia, CEO of Shorno Kessori Network Foundation, were little hurt in the copter crash.

They were going to join a bicycle-giving programme for the girls in the district organised by Shorno Kessori Network Foundation, Godagari. The chopper went down near the upazila helipad at around 2:45pm on Thursday, police and fire service officials said. The reason for the crash could not be known yet.

Police have been deployed at the crash site, Jahangir Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Godagari police station said. Hearing the news of chopper crash police rushed to the spot and along with  fire service they have rescued all passengers and pilot without any major injury. Later, they winched to Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office. Syed Saker Ali, pilot of the chopper, primarily informed that due to inclement weather and also technical glitch could have been the cause of the crash. Squadron Leader Monir Uddin, Chief Engineer of Impress Aviation, said an investigation team led by him has already started for the spot. After investigation, it will be clear that why the chopper crashed, Monir Uddin added.
