School Kabaddi kicks off today

Vashabi School Kabaddi will begin from today with 63 boys and 52 girls school  taking part in the five-day long competition.

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) is organising the competition with aiming to select players for the Kids Kabaddi competition to be held in India.

In a press conference held yesterday at the Bangladesh Police Headquarter, general secretary of the BKF, Habibur Rahman, DIG (Administration and Discipline) of Bangladesh Police detailed all about their objective of organising the competition. The teams will play in eight zones and five venues – Motijheel, Tejgaon, Azimpur, Kotwali, Uttara, Mohammedpur, Mirpur and Cantonment.

The venue of Motijheel and Tejgaon is Motijheel Government Boys’ High School, The venue of Kotwali and Azimpur will be Kabaddi Stadium, APBM is the venue of Uttara Zone, Mohammedpur High School is the venue of Mohammedpur Zone while Mirpur and Cantonment zone’s venue will be Mirpur Police Line, Mirpur 14.       

Habibur Rahman informed that they took the initiative to organize the competition for the school boys and girls where from they get players for future and initially they will select players both boys and girls to take part in the Kids Kabaddi competition to be held in India.

Champions of the Vashabi School Kabaddi will receive Taka 40,000 and the runners-up team will be warded with Take 30,000. Gazi Muhammed Mozammel Haque, joint secretary of the BKF and the Additional DIG (development of Bangladesh police) and Yasin Ahmed Khan, chairman of the Vashabi Fashion Limited were present in the press meet among others.
