‘Channel i Music Award 2018’ set to kick off

With the aim of promoting pure music in the country, the biggest musical award event of the South Asia titled ‘Channel i Music Award 2018’, powered by Seven Up, is set to kick off once again. Commenced in 2004, the upcoming edition of the event will mark 12 years. A huge number of artistes from the various genres of music will be reunited on the same stage through this year’s event. Besides, veteran singer Subir Nandi will be honoured with the lifetime achievement award this year.

Every year ‘Channel i Music Award’ comes up with some surprises, and this time around, a new segment called ‘Golden Voice Award’ will be introduced for the individuals who have been involved in music for more than two decades.

The grand finale of the latest season of the music award will take place on September 21 on the open premises of The Palace Luxury Resort in Bahubal, Habiganj. Farzana Brownia will host the three-hour-long programme directed by Izaz Khan Swapan.

Alongside giving the lifetime achievement award, the critic awards will be distributed in 16 categories and newly-introduced ‘Golden Voice Awards’ will be given in six categories. The categories for critic awards include—Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Loko Sangeet, lyricist, music director, music video, cover design, sound engineer, modern song in two categories, band, newcomer, playback song and classical vocal music. On the other hand, the categories of ‘Golden Voice Awards’ are Rabindra, Nazrul, Loko, playback, modern and golden maker. l
