Heavy rainfall at Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet

It was a hot and humid day, with the mercury rising to 34.1 degrees Celsius in the city. There was scanty rainfall, measuring 15mm, between 3pm and 6pm. The rain was preceded buy dark clouds and rumblings over many areas of the capital.

Public transport, such as rickshaws, were few, with peddlers demanding higher fares.

Rain is likely today (Thursday), and such weather may continue for the next 24 hours, the met forecast said.

Heavy rainfall warnings during the next 24 hours, beginning at 4pm on Wednesday, were issued for places in Mymensingh, Rangpur and Sylhet divisons.

Reports said at places in the greater Sylhet region, like Maulvibazar, the Monu river was in spate.
