The country’s private commercial bank signed an agreement with K-Sports, the official sponsorship rights holding company of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for Team Kits Partner in the capital yesterday.

Zara Jabeen Mahbub, head of communications of BRAC Bank Limited and Fahad M A Karim, chief executive officer of K-Sports signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisation.

By dint of the agreement, the bank will be the Team Kit Partner of the national cricket team, national women team, A Team, academy team and under-19 team for all home and away series from 2018 to 2020.

The new agreement will come into effect from the upcoming ACC 2018 Asia Cup to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 15. The partnership will also cover the next back-to-back home series against Zimbabwe and West Indies in October-November 2018.

In 2019, it will also cover away series against New Zealand in February-March, away series against Ireland in May (before ICC World Cup in England and Wales), home series against Afghanistan in September-October, away series against India in October-November 2019, away series against Sri Lanka in November-December.

Apart from that, they will cover in 2020 away series against Pakistan in January-February, home series against Australia, home series against Zimbabwe in March, away series against Ireland in June and away series against Sri Lanka in July-August.

During the two-year period, the national cricket team will play a total of 14 home and away series involving 19 Tests coupled with 26 ODIs and 19 T20 Internationals.

On the occasion, Selim R. F. Hussain, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank Limited said, “Cricket is the most popular sport of our country. Consistent world class performance of the national cricket team has immensely boosted the country’s image worldwide.”

“Association with national cricket team not only enhances brand image but also becomes a pride factor for the brand itself. We believe in partnership with the national cricket team will reinforce the bank’s image as a responsible corporate entity,” he added.
