Recent increase in thunderstorms in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a disaster prone country. Almost every year, the country experiences disasters such as flood, cyclone, drought along with increasing thunderstorm and lightning.  Just like Bangladesh, there are increased incidents of thunderstorm in other counties. Lightning is one of the leading causes of weather-related fatalities. Deforestation and indiscriminate felling of tall trees in rural areas are also contributing to increasing lightning strike intensity. For the past few years thunderstorm and lighting in Bangladesh has been increased. 15 per cent drop in the average number of lightning flashes worldwide by the turn of this century, if global temperatures are in the top range of forecasts. A drop in the incidence of lightning strikes could impact on the frequency of wildfires, especially in tropical regions. It could also lower the incidence of lightning strikes to infrastructure and affect how greenhouse gases in the atmosphere contribute to climate change.

The effects of climate change on the global scale have continued to increase over time. On the other hand, the violet has been added to the thunderstorm, which is coming out with extreme horror. Most recently, lightning has become an impenetrable form that has resulted in the loss of hundred people in the early days of May in this year, most of which are poor peasants and workers working in the fields. Suddenly there is no sense of thunderstorm due to the danger of thunderbolt, they are the main victims, and thus they are facing a deep crisis of poverty by losing family income. Thunderstorm is a natural calamity.  When the thunderstorm starts, the cloud begins to be formed first and at that time the condition of the sky is not very dark. It is like a little black cloud. A little brisk and lightning flashing. And then people should be aware. If you are outside the sky is black, then you will have to go to a safer place.

Now often people are dying in sudden lightning at some places. According to the Environmental scientists, it is the natural variation of climate change. Thus fee-year has taken epidemic. The number of deaths has increased in recent lightning.  It is known that 81 lightning struck in 26 districts of Bangladesh in the first half of this year. In the last 5 years, 1239 people have died in lightning. There were more thunderstorms in Rajshahi and Sunamganj district of Sylhet division. Thunderbolt is produced on friction by friction due to excessive amount of water vapor on the clouds. If there is a spell and simultaneous noise, it will be a thunderstorm and at that time, we have to be careful and do the things. In order to save the impact of the thunderstorm, many people have to make conscious. Scientists think it is going to increase the global temperature. Temperature is increasing due to climate change and it is 0.74 percent rise in temperature in Bangladesh.

Things to do during the thunderstorm are: Shelter needs to be taken in the house. Can not take shelter under a big tree in the open space. Must be at least 4-5 meters away from the tree. Cannot stay in a high place. If there is no place for shelter while working in open ground or in the field of crops, it should be as low as possible to sit down. But the soil will not be viable. The crushed electric should be away from it. If there is a boat in the river, you should take the position under the ceiling. Can’t stand in the verandah. Stay away from windows and electrical equipment. Mobile phone towers cannot be approached. If there is water during the thunderbolt then you will have to go to the dry place as soon as possible. Electric conductive cloths or instruments such as iron lounges, bikes, motorcycles, and maintaining safe distance. In the forest or jungles, there will be shelter in low-lying areas where there is little vegetation or trend. All electrical appliances (TV, refrigerator, fan & computer) and internet connection must be disconnected before the thunderstorm starts in the house. Besides, there is a need to take action against thunderstorm and arthritis in order to reduce the losses of thunderstorms. If we see clouds in the sky, you will not be able to come back home or near home if you do not go out of the house and if you are outside. If the sky is cloudy and rainy, then there is no place in the fields, ponds or open places. In such a situation, however, boys and girls have to be advised not to be outside the weather. The person suffering from unheeded thunderstorms will immediately be taken to the nearest hospital as soon as possible to breathe in the body massage and continuously pressurize the chest. In case of accident, if any member of the family is reported to be injured then they will have to go there and help to get the necessary treatment. The palm protects not only from thunderstorms, it has many uses and high food. Palm Tree is a prolific tree.

It is important to protect economically from soil erosion and the balance of the environment. Therefore, members of the haor, river, bogs, edges of   land and open areas will be encouraged to plant palm seeds in their own initiatives. So, that Palm tree can play an effective role in preventing such attacks in the future.Deep forest is also good against thunderstorms. Because it reduces temperature. People can also take shelter if there is small trench in the village. Due to the thunderstorm, the degraded oxide environment creates pollution levels. As a result of the thunderstorm that increases air pollution, the rate of lightning is increasing due to pollution. Bangladesh's thunderstorm area as the center of climate change due to Himalayan footprint. According to different agencies, lightning killed 2440 people in 2010-2017. Thunderstorms are increasing and number of deaths in lightning is rising. Climate change is one of the main reasons for this. Field officials and employees working in the field will be advised to walk them in the field visit and in the meetings, along with the motivation to improve the lives of rural people.

Scientists say warmer conditions associated with climate change are causing more water evaporation from the land and ocean, increasing clouds and rainfall and the potential for lightning storms. Some specialists think that as the world warms up, we should expect more explosive lightning events rather than a gradual increase. Experts in Bangladesh and internationally say the rise in fatal lightning strikes may also be related to the country's population growth and to deforestation, which has led to the disappearance of many tall trees that earlier would have drawn lightning strikes.Rising global temperatures over the last century were driving a range of changing weather phenomenon, including stronger tropical cyclones, thunderstorms, floods, droughts and heat waves. The increased numbers of lightning strikes may be due to global warming but it needs further research to be confirmed. In Bangladesh — or anywhere where storms threaten — "people should take shelter immediately in any [building] and farmers should flatten themselves to the soil when they meet any possibility of thunderstorm to avoid incidents.
