‘Eti, Tomari Dhaka’ invited to South Korea

Eti, Tomari Dhaka’ (Sincerely, Your Dhaka), the first anthology film of Bangladesh produced by Impress Telefilm, has been invited to the 23rd Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The festival will be held from October 4 to 13 in Busan, South Korea. In the global cinema industry, the anthology is a very popular and important genre of films. This type of films is usually the combination of several short length features.

A talented group of filmmakers consisted of 11 directors has directed this film. The name of the directors includes Golam Kibria Farooki, Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Mahmudul Islam, Mir Mukarram Hossain, Nuhash Humayun, Rahat Rahman, Robiul Alam Robi, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Tanim noor and Tanvir Ahsan.

The film ‘Sincerely, Your Dhaka’ has been already submitted to censor board to have its countrywide release. However, before that, by participating BIFF, the film will have its international release before its countrywide release.

To note, the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), previously known as Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan (also Pusan), South Korea, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. The focus of the BIFF is introducing new films and first-time directors, especially those from Asian countries. Another notable feature is the appeal of the festival to young people, both in terms of the large youthful audience, it attracts and through its efforts to develop and promote young talent. l
