National Film Award winning actor Chanchal Chowdhury has acted in several seven-episode drama serials for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Among these dramas, the actor will be presented in a completely different avatar, as the story and character demanded, in Imraul Rafat-directed ‘Kolkatar Dada Babu’ (Dada Babu from Kolkata). Meanwhile, a big portion of the shooting for the drama serial has already been completed in Old Dhaka of the capital.

Written by Apel Mahmud, the story of ‘Kolkatar Dada Babu’ sheds light on two Muslim and Hindu families living in the same house. Suddenly, a young man, warmly called Dada Babu, arrives at the house from Kolkata. Showing documents, he claims the ownership of the house as his ancestor’s property. Here starts the different type of complications. With a story like this, the drama serial moves forward.

Chanchal Chowdhury said about acting in this drama serial, “On the occasion of Eid, I try to act in the comedy story-based dramas keeping the viewer’s fondness in mind. But the story of ‘Kolkatar Dada Babu’ is a very serious one. I have played as Dada Babu from Kolkata, which I really enjoyed a lot. I hope the viewers would enjoy the drama with a sense of fascination.”

The drama serial ‘Kolkatar Dada Babu’ will be aired on a satellite TV channel during Eid-ul-Azha.

On the other hand, Chanchal Chowdhury will be seen in two more Eid drama serials. These are—‘Hero Jokhon Villain’ and ‘Charitra Stri’. Both the drama serials have been directed by Masud Sezan.
