Popular singer Momtaz Begum, also known as the folk music queen, is all set to present as much as eight famous songs for the viewers of Bangladesh Television (BTV) in upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. DhakaLive has news that the singer will be seen performing in a musical show titled ‘Momtaz off Track’, conceptualised and planned by BTV Director General Harun-Or-Rashid.

Anchored by Afsana Mimi, the viewers will enjoy the rendition of Momtaz as the anchor and singer continue the show gossiping with each other. Momtaz will perform songs from different genres, including Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Lalon songs and songs of Shah Abdul Karim. In the meantime, the recording of the show has been completed in the studio of BTV last week.

About the show, anchor Afsana Mimi said, “I went to attend a show in abroad with Momtaz many years ago. I got acquainted with her that time and we have been friends since then. The interesting fact is that we did this show out of the blue. Even, we didn’t have necessary preparation.”

“She has an amazing vocal. I have heard her rendition very attentively at the time of recording. I got really enthralled. I can surely say that the audience would be fascinated as well”, Mimi added while commenting about a thrilling performance of Momtaz.

Musical show ‘Momtaz off Track’ will be aired on BTV during Eid-ul-Azha.
