South Korea lift Embassy Football Fest title

South Korea emerged the champions of the first Embassy Football Fest defeating Palestine by 2-0 in the final at the Sheikh Russel Roller Skating Sports Complex in the capital on Friday.

a total of 14 teams from 20 embassy, Diplomatic Police and a team from Foreign Ministry participated in the two-day long competition.

The competition took place in knockout basis with South Korea defeated India by a solitary goal in the first semifinal and Palestine team outplayed Diplomatic Police team by 2-0

South Korea stunned all in the World Cup 2018 in Russia defeating one of the powerhouses in the soccer world German by 2-0 and their (Korea) Embassy team blanked their Palestine counterpart by 2-0 to win the title of the tournament.

Dean of Diplomatic George Cochary handed over the replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy to the winners.

Organised by the Sports School with the supports of the Ministry of the Sports and Youth and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) official of the different embassy enjoyed the competition with great enthusiasm while the organisers announced that the sports fest will be organised regularly.
