5 contemporary artistsí show starts at Gallery Cosmos today

Gallery Cosmos, in association with Charkon, is organising a ten-day long art exhibition titled ‘Ropbandho’ at its premises in Mohakhali DOHS in the city from today. Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh Pema Choden, Managing Director of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Bangladesh Limited M Azizul Huq and eminent artist Professor Abul Barq Alvi will inaugurate the show today at 6pm at Gallery Cosmos-2.
The participating artists of the exhibition are Shulekha Chaudhury, Nazmul Ahsan, Salma Zakia Bristy, Farzana Ripa and Afrozaa Jamil Konka. A total number of 45 artworks of 5 artists will be displayed at the exhibition. The first four artists are founders of Charkon. Charkon or four corners is an expression of effort by four friends. Farzana Ripa, Shulekha Chaudhury, Salma Zakia Bristy and Nazmul Ahsan graduated from Fine Art Institute of Dhaka University, are the four corner stones of Charkon. The motivation behind forming the group was to help each other in refining and invigorating the creative evolution. This is the first exhibition of Charkon. The exhibition will remain open to all everyday from 11am to 7pm, until September 13.

Where:    Gallery Cosmos-2, Villa De Anjuman, Road 6, House 115, New DOHS, Mohakhali.
When:    6 pm (Inauguration).
