Minor killed after ‘rape’

UNB

COMILLA: A 10-year-old girl was hacked to death allegedly after being raped at Hatimara village in Manoharganj upazila on Monday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Shimu Akhter, daughter of Saidul Haque of the village and a first grader of Hatimara Madrasah. Abdul Hannan Hiron, chairman of Uttar Hawla union parishad, said Saidul went to a paddy field in the morning keeping his daughter at the house alone as his wife had been in Sylhet for a week. When he returned home at noon, he found Shimu lying dead under the bed, the chairman said.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy, said Md Samsuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Manoharganj Police Station.

Mentioning that there were at least 5-6 deep stab marks on the body, he said prima facie it seemed that the girl was raped before being killed.
