Bangabandhu Gold Cup now in Dec

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is adamant to organise the Bangabandhu Gold Cup football tournament this year after being postponed for two times, as now the country’s apex football body decided to hold the international tourney in December.

BFF, who officially announced a yearly calendar in 2015, when the schedule to organise  the Bangabandhu Cup was in March 11 to 23, 2017 but it was deferred again to December 18 to 31 and this time it also failed to organise and now the BFF is aiming to stage it on December this year.

Meanwhile, the first edition of the Bangabandhu International Gold Cup football tournament was held in 1996 but the organisers could not maintain the regularity to organize the tournament, as the second edition was held after three years interval in 1999 and the third edition took another 16 years time to roll into the ground in 2015 and the fourth time in 2016.
