Operators formally launch 4G services

The mobile phone operators Grameenphone, and Banglalink officially launched 4G services in the capital and some other major cities yesterday while Robi rolled out 4G services across 64 districts in Bangladesh.

Grameenphone yesterday officially launched 4G services in selected areas of Chittagong, a press statement said.

Grameenphone's Chief Human Resources Officer Quazi Mohammad Shahed formally launched the service in presence of Solaiman Alam, head of digital and Shaon Azad, head of Chittagong circle at a hotel.

Grameenphone's 4G was launched on the evening of February 19, 2018 in Dhaka and Chittagong simultaneously.

Banglalink, one of the leading digital communication service providers in Bangladesh, launched 4G services in Khulna making it one of the first regions in the country to go under 4G coverage.

Ritesh Kumar Singh, chief sales officer of Banglalink made the announcement at a press conference held at City Inn in Khulna.

Among others, Khulna City Corporation Mayor Md Moniruzzaman Moni and F M Shahriar Omar Prince, regional director of B2C Sales & Distribution, were present.

Mobile phone operator Robi launched 4G mobile service for both Robi and Airtel brand users in all the 64 districts across the country.

The top three mobile operators rolled out the much-awaited 4G service in the capital and some other major cities Monday evening -- within minutes of receiving the licence from the government.
