Dhaka Art Summit comes to an end today

Dhaka Art Summit (DAS) will end today at national art plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), report UNB. The eight- day event is being organised under the aegis of Samdani Art Foundation on February 2 highlighting the dynamic evolution of art in contemporary South Asia and reviving historical inter-Asian modes of exchange. The DAS 2018 featured an opening celebration weekend from February 2 to 4 while it is featuring its closing segment Scholars' Weekend from February 8 which will continue to February 10.

A daylong symposium 'The Sunwise Turn' organised by Shabbir Hussain Mustafa will be held from 10 am to 6.30pm at the main auditorium while 'Like Water on Hot Rocks (2018) by Goshka Macuga with Vali Mahlouji performance will be held from 10 am to 12:30pm at the entrance of National Art Gallery on the last day.

Alongside, an event 'Musical Interlude: Baul singers from Kushtia, followers of Lalon Fakir' will be held from 1.30 pm to 3.30pm at the entrance of National Art Gallery on the day.

This time 55 international organisations are partnering in the Dhaka Art Summit 2018 along with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the country's National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, with the support of the Cultural Affairs and Information Ministries, the National Tourism Board, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), and the Bangladesh National Museum. l
