I Scatec Solar, a Norwegian power producing company, will set up a 800 megawatts solar power plant in Chandpur at a cost of $1.0 billion, reports BSS.
I Scatec Solar and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the capital for setting up the plant in Chandpur yesterday, said a BEZA media release.
A total of 3,002 acres of land will be required for setting up the power plant, said the Norwegian firm in an initially estimation.
Executive member of BEZA Harunur Rashid and I Scatec Solar Vice-President Morten Langshold signed the MoU on their respective side.
BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chow-dhury and Ambassador of Norway to Bangladesh Sidcel Blekenmn were present on the occasion.
