Beauty pageant ‘Lux Super Star’ is back

The launching ceremony of the country’s most awaited and glamorous platform, ‘Channel i presents Lux Super Star’, held yesterday at the Grand Ballroom of The Westin Dhaka in the capital.

Registration for Lux Super Star was announced along with the logo reveal. In keeping with the times, the registration process has been completely digitised for the first time in the history of the contest. Contestants can now easily register at the newly launched website www.luxsuperstar.com or through LuxBangladesh’s Facebook page.

Unilever Bangladesh Limited’s Category Head, Skin Cleansing, Nadia Tabassum emphasised, “There are multiple facets to women. They can no longer be defined by their outward beauty only. Just how the definition of women has changed, so has the face of Channel i presents Lux Super Star.”

As he revealed the media campaign of Lux Super Star, Unilever Bangladesh Limited’s Head of Personal Care, Nafees Anwar said, “The former Lux Super Stars are leading the industry today. And those who emerge after going through Channel i presents Lux Super Star’s training, grooming and mentoring, will one day attain the top positions in the industry.”

He also thanked everyone who were involved with this event, especially Channel i, “We have constantly had Channel i as our partner, and with their cooperation and patronage, the former Lux Super Stars have been able to express their talents. So I deeply thank the Channel i family.” Faridur Reza Sagar, the Managing Director of Channel i, formally inaugurated this season’s journey of Lux Super Star by wishing all contestants the very best of luck.  

Lastly, the three judges, Sadia Islam Mou, Tahsan Khan and Arifin Shuvo were revealed. The Judges expressed their excitement for being a part of ‘Channel i presents Lux Super Star’. They all expressed their hopes and belief of our next Super Stars rising from this platform.

The winner for this year’s Lux Super Star will get a car and 5 lakh taka in cash. She will be the brand ambassador of Lux and will get the opportunity to perform in Unilever brand communications. She will be the cover girl in prominent beauty magazines and will get a grooming course in the Bangladesh Film & Television Academy. The winner will also get the chance to act in the lead role in a film produced by Impress Telefilm and in special dramas by Channel i.   

The first runner up will get 4 lakh taka in cash and the opportunity to perform in Unilever brand communications, while the second runner up will get 3 lakh taka in cash and the opportunity to perform in Unilever brand communications. Both first and second runner up will also be the cover girl in prominent beauty magazines and will also get a grooming course in the Bangladesh Film & Television Academy.

Apart from these, all top 10 contestants will have a portfolio done by renowned photographers.
