Use facebook to boost business

Small and medium entrepreneurs can give a mighty boost to their businesses by using facebook. Resorting to facebook online, creative content, attractive pages and pinned posts can dramatically enhance the scope of business for them. Experts shed light on this topic at a seminar titled "Grow your Business using facebook" at the Windy Town Seminar Room of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Wednesday.  About 400 persons were present.

E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) president Razib Ahmed said small and medium entrepreneurs could boost their businesses by using facebook online.  He gave a presentation on how to boost business by using facebook advertising. Boosting posts, promoting pages and using facebook online are crucial to reach the target customer, he said.

The seminar was organised as part of the four-day mega IT event "Digital World 2017" that began on Wednesday. ICT Division additional secretary Md. Harunur Rashid, e-CAB general secretary Abdul Wahed Tomal, e-Cab director Nasima Akhter Nisha, facebook’s business development manager Kushagra Sagar and Nusratake’s chief executive officer Golamat Ullah were present as special guests in the seminar.

Mobioapp, a company that develops innovative ideas for mobile messaging with stickers and chatting, participated in the event.  “Customers can use mobile sticker messengers by using the Bengali language,” said Mobioapp manager Abdullah Al Mamun.

Eshkul, a complete school management solution system, launched a three-pronged solution platform. The entire content-based education module will be available by using this platform. Parents with their children were seen trying this app on the occasion.

E-commerce websites like ajkerdeal.com, and itbazaar.com.bd took part in the event. They showed their new products and offered huge discounts.

“Venture capital is needed to boost the e-commerce sector in Bangladesh. Our neighbouring countries, such as China and India, have made huge progress in this sector through venture capital,” said Ajkerdeal.com.bd chairman Fahim Mashroor.

“About 10,000 parcels are transacted daily through e-commerce. It's worth Tk. 300 crore a year. As much as 4,000–5,000 websites are doing business in our country. We expect more growth in this sector,” he added.

Another seminar titled ‘Payment Services: Opportunity and Challenges’ was held at the same venue. It discussed the opportunities and challenges of the payment services ecosystem in Bangladesh. State minister for information technology, Junaid Ahmed Palak, SSL Wireless e-commerce department head Navait Askin, Mastercard country manager Said M Kamal, Bikash chief executive officer Kamal Kadir and e-CAB general Abdul Wahed Tamal were present there.
