Lt Gen Sabbir new CGS

Lieutenant General Sabbir Ahmed, OSP, SGP, NDC, PSC, currently serving as General-Officer-Commanding-(GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC), has been appointed the Chief of General Staff (CGS) of  Bangladesh Army.
A highly placed source of army headquarters confirmed the new appointment of the CGS yesterday.
Lieutenant General Sabbir has replaced Lt Gen Mainul, who was appointed as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Armed Forces Division (AFD) on July 30.
Talking to this correspondent, the newly appointed CGS Lieutenant General Sabbir said that he will take charge as the CGS next week.
