Runa Laila chosen for ‘Distinguished Celebrity Legend Award’ in USA

Internationally-acclaimed Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila has been chosen for the ‘Distinguished Celebrity Legend Award’ by the USA-based Barinu Institute for Economic Development. She will be awarded at a high-level event titled ‘Inspiring Women Creativity and Entrepreneurship in the Global Ecosystem’, which will be held at the Trump Plaza World Tower’ in New York, United States of America (USA) on May 25.
Runa Laila has been invited to the award ceremony not only as an awardee, but also as a special guest to the programme. The celebrity singer has already received an email from the organisers for joining the award ceremony. “You are chosen based on your extraordinary lifetime achievement in music, the arts and your exemplary contribution to women development in creativity your country Bangladesh, continent Asia and indeed worldwide. We are excited and look forward to your participation and attendance”, Ellen Jung Rhee, on behalf of the Barinu Institute for Economic Development, wrote in the email. Runa Laila said about receiving yet another international award, “The entire matter is very pleasurable for me, as well as this is very prestigious to get this award as a Bangladeshi. Certainly, as a female, this award is very significant to me. My well wishes to the organisers.” To note, Runa Laila won the National Film Awards for six times for her breathtaking playback in the films.
