Bangladesh bankers attend business events in Paris, Vienna

A delegation, comprising 41 bankers from the country’s 17 commercial banks, is attending the ICC Austria Global Trade Finance Week being held in Vienna.

The three-day event that began on May 17 with the participation of over 200 bankers from European Union (EU) countries will provide an opportunity to discuss issues relating to letters of credit, bank guarantees and credit risks, among other things.

ICC Bangladesh President Mahbubur Rahman will attend the concluding session on Friday.

Former Managing Director of Pubali Bank and Member of ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Helal Ahmed Chaudhury is also attending the programme.

The delegation, which also attended a meeting at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) headquarters in Paris on May 16, will return home on May 22, said a press release here on Thursday.

Chief Operating Officer, ICC, Paris Philip Kucharski chaired the meeting with ICC officials and ICC Banking Commission.

ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Chairman Muhammad A (Rumee) Ali and ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman is leading the Bangladesh delegation which left Dhaka on May 15.unb.
