ICT issues advisory to check cyber attack

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division has asked the concerned persons individually and the organizations to follow some instructions for protecting themselves from the ongoing cyber attacks as the cyber attack mania is now emerging as a global threat.

The ICT thinks that the world-wide website hacking through a well-coordinated ransomware attack, known as WannaCrypt, would be protected by pursuing these instructions, said an ICT release here today.

To avoid cyber attack, the ICT has asked the people and the organizations for taking regular data backup of the computer and keep the data save in another place.

The ICT has requested for regular windows update and asked to keep the windows automatic update functional. For windows operated computer, the ICT
has asked to update the computer with MS17-010 patch.

The division has cautioned the people for never to download ransom ware removal tool from any un-trusted online source which likely to become a new
attack.

Never click any link without verifying the real source inside of any other email coming from unknown source or any suspicious address.

Moreover, the ICT has also requested for adopting an update and automatic anti-virus in the computer and then browse internet with utmost security.

The ICT also has asked to visit https://www.cirt.gov.bd/wannacry-ransomeware-how-to-protect-yourself/, for details.BSS.
