Saima’s painting show at AFD from tomorrow

A two-day solo painting exhibition titled  ‘Canvas Chronicles’ by artist Saima M Khan will begin tomorrow at the Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi in the capital. Dhaka University Public Administration Department Chairman Professor Dr Akhter Hossain will inaugurate the exhibition tomorrow at 5.30 pm as special guest while Fine Arts Department Director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy artist Muniruzzaman will be present as special guest.
Saima M Khan’s canvas does not simply encrust a moment in time. Through the canvas captures animation and in a trice, instills a real liveable moment inside the cerebration of the observer, Khan’s canvas does more.
Each of her paintings has a story of its own and these stories, these chronicles far away, are formed from emotions greatly familiar, and are made of colours that are as relatable as night and day, the combination of which results in a beautiful congress.
Saima M Khan, a student of Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, is a passionate painter who dreams of leaving a mark in the field of arts. She also happens to be an aspiring writer whose works have appeared in the issues of Six Seasons Review, published by Bengal Foundation.
The exhibition will remain open to all, until May 6 and can be visited Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday (9 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 8 pm; closed on Sunday.
