Sohel Mahfuz now leading Neo-JMB

Notorious militant leaders Sohel Mahfuz alias Nasurullah and Moinul Islam alias Musa have taken over leadership of the banned militant group Neo-JMB. They have replaced Tamim Chowdhury and other leaders who have been killed by law enforcers.

Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, commonly known as the JMB, was formed in Rajshahi by notorious militant leaders Shayakh Abdur Rahman and Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai.

The terror group shocked Bangladesh by carrying out simultaneous bombings across 63 districts in 2005. The group later re-organised as Jamiyatul Mujahidin Bangladesh, and then as Neo-JMB, and announced its presence through the gruesome terror attack in Gulshan last year. Law enforcers say that the militant group is looking for new recruits after losing almost all of its key leaders.
