Diti to be remembered on 1st death anniv today

Today is the first death anniversary of Parveen Sultana Diti, who was a very amiable, talented and immensely popular film actress in the country’s showbiz. To remember Diti in an appropriate manner on the day of her demise, her family and Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association will hold separate special programmes. Diti’s daughter Lamia informed that their family members will visit the graveyard of her mother in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, where they will offer prayers for the salvation of the departed soul. After Johr prayer, there will be milad and dua mahfil at Sonargaon Jame Mosque. Besides, they will feed the orphans, poor and distressed children on the occasion.
On the other hand, initiated by Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association, a milad mahfil and commemorative event will also be arranged after Asr prayer on the occasion of Diti’s death anniversary on the association premises. Vice president of the artistes’ association Omar Sani confirmed the news.
Sani said, “Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association will try to pay utmost honour to late actress Diti on her first death anniversary.”
Born on March 31, 1965 in Sonargaon of Narayanganj, Parveen Sultana Diti had acted on both big and small screens besides working as a model in many television commercials in her lifetime.
