Mushroom Tikka

Delicious and savory, Mushroom Tikka is an easy to make appetizer recipe. Mushrooms are not just amazing ingredients that give an out-of-the world taste to any creatively done recipe, but also are rich in minerals, Vitamin C and anti-oxidants and hence should be a frequently included ingredient in your diet. Try out this quick recipe.

INGREDIENTS

300 gm sliced button mushroom
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 chopped onion
6 cloves finely chopped garlic
1 handful chopped coriander leaves
1 cup refined oil
1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 inch chopped ginger
3 finely chopped green chilli
1 teaspoon salt

How to make Mushroom Tikka

Step 1

In a large bowl mix together gram flour and all purpose flour. Add red chilli powder, salt and enough water to make a thick batter. Add the mushrooms to this batter.

Step 2

Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan. Deep fry the mushrooms in batches.

Step 3

Keep the flame low and remove the mushrooms once they become golden brown. Drain excess oil and keep aside.

Step 4

In a separate pan, heat a little oil. Saute the onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies for 1 minute.

Step 5

Add the mushrooms and mix well. Add a little water with 2 tblsp all purpose flour and pour into the pan.

Step 6

Mix well till coated. Serve hot garnished with spring onions and tomatoes.
