Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam on Thursday said BNP has taken its stand against the country's interest so that the party criticizes any initiative of the government.

"They (BNP) are criticizing only for criticism and they have no strength to foil any election," he told an extended meeting of Dhaka City South Awami League at National Sports Council here.

The minister also said BNP is patronizing terrorism and militancy to create an unstable situation in the country.

AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Vice-President Abu Ahmed Mannafi, joint general secretaries Kamal Chowdhury and Abdul Haq Sabuj and Organizing Secretary Hedayetul Islam Swapan, among others, addressed the meeting.

Dhaka City South Awami League President Abul Hasnat chaired it.BSS
