15 persons,BAF get 'Independence Award-2017'

The government on Thrusday finalised names of 15 persons and Bangladesh Air Force(BAF) for 'Independence Award -2017' for their glorious and outstanding contributions at the national level.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will give away the award at a function at Osmany Memorial Auditorium in the city on March 23, said a notification of the Cabinet Division.

The recipients of the Independence Award-2017 are: Group Captain (Retd) Shamsul Alam Bir Uttam - independence and Liberation War, Ashraful Alam - independence and Liberation War, Shaheed Md Nazmul Huq - independence and Liberation War, late Syed Mahsin Ali - independence and Liberation War, Shaheed NM Nazmul Ahsan - independence and Liberation War, Shaheed Faizur Rahman Ahmed - independence and Liberation War, Bangladesh Air Force - independence and Liberation War, Professor Dr AHM Touhidul Anowar Chawdhury - medical science, Begum Rabeya Khatun - literature, late Golam Samdani Koraishi - literature, Professor Dr Enamul Huq - culture, Ostad Bazlur Rahman Badal - culture, Khalil Kazi OBE - social service, Shamsuzzaman Khan - research and training, late Professor Dr Lalit Mohan Nath - research and training and Professor Mohammad Asaduzzaman - public administration.
