‘10th Citycell–Channel i Music Award’ presented

‘10th Citycell–Channel i Music Award’ presented

In recognition of noteworthy contribution to the different fields of the country’s music scene, the biggest musical arrangement in the country ‘10th Citycell–Channel i Music Award’ was presented on Monday evening. This year, different awards in as many as 17 categories under two segments–critics and popular choice award–were handed over to the winners at a star-studded programme at the Mirpur Indoor Stadium in the city. Veteran music exponent Ferdousi Rahman was bestowed with the lifetime achievement award for her immense contribution to the country’s music arena this year at the 10th edition of the award ceremony. Managing Director of Channel i Faridur Reza Sagor, Head of Corporate Communication and Public Relation of Citycell Taslim Ahmed, noted music personalities Mustafa Zaman Abbasi and Sabina Yasmin handed over the prestigious award to Ferdousi Rahman. Ferdousi Rahman expressed her instant feelings upon receiving the award, “I have received many awards in my life. Today’s award will be most memorable award in my life.”

Winners of the critic awards are–
Rabindra Sangeet: Sabina Yasmin (‘Ami Sandha-dwiper Shikha’), Nazrul Sangeet: Khairul Anam Shakil (‘Benuka’), People’s song: Kiran Chandra Roy (‘Janli Na Mon Kothay Se’), Modern song: Samina Chowdhury (‘Anurodh Kore’), Novice singer: Saran (‘Kachhe Aste Mana), Music director: Nakib Khan (‘Tumi Pashe Bole Ki Sundor’), Best lyricist: Zulfikar Rasel (‘Amar Mon Bhalo Nei’), Playback song: Kishor & Nancy (‘Ei Prothom Ekti Mukh’ from the film ‘Bhalobasa Ajkal’), Cover design: Syed Kamal (‘Amar Sera’), Sound Engineer: Mishail Kabir (‘Fera’), Best band: Chirkutt (‘Zadur Shohor’), Music video-maker: Shuvabrata Sarker (‘Tomake Chhara’-‘Jane Khuda’). Popular Choice award winners–
Modern song: Tahsan (‘Bhul Chaie’-‘Nimantran’), Best band: Joler Gaan (‘Otol Joler Gaan’), Novice singer: Smaran (‘Kachhe Aste Mana-‘Saraner Janala’), Playback song: Chandan Sinha (‘Ami Nissho’-‘Purna Dhoirgha Prem Kahini’), Fusion: ‘Krishnakoli’ (‘Dalan Dili’-‘Bonophul’). Besides the prize giving ceremony, an array of dazzling performances featuring novice-veteran artistes of the country enthralled the audience present in the programme. Eminent artistes who performed at the programme were Sabina Yasmin, Tapan Mahmud, Ferdous Ara, Abida Sultana, Rafiqul Alam, Farida Parvin, Ayub Bachchu, Rizia Parvin, Monir Khan, Tahsan, Kona and Konal, among others. Popular actor Anisur Rahman Milon, model-actress Toma Mirza, Omar Sani, Shila, Sumon and Prasun Azad performed dance with the songs from a number of popular films.Farzana Brownia was the host of the programme, while Shahidul Alam Sachhu directed the entire event. Channel i will tele-cast the recorded version of ‘10th Citycell–Channel i Music Award’ soon.
