A total of 29 Indian sailors, who were stuck here due to commercial flight suspension amid COVID-19, returned home today by a chartered flight of Novoair, one of Bangladesh’s private carrier.
The special flight with the Indian sailors departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here at 2:30 pm and arrived in Kolkata at 2:52 pm (local time), a Novoair press release said here.
Earlier, amid flight suspension, the Novoair also helped numbers of stranded Indian sailors by repatriating them through operating several chartered flights.
Flights between India and Bangladesh have been suspended since 15 March for containment of deadly coronavirus.
