Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman MP on Thursday expressed deep shock at the death of Awami League Presidium Member and former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun.

According to condolence message issued on Friday (10th July), the veteran politician died while being treated in a hospital in Thailand. (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajeun)

Salman said people of all walks of life alongside Bangladesh Awami League as well as the political arena are deeply saddened at the death of Sahara Khatun. Her death has dealt a severe blow the AL as well as the political arena of the country, said the condolence message.

“She was a fearless activist for the AL politics and was a tested fellow for the party’s leaders and activists. She worked tirelessly for developing Bangladesh being imbued with the spirit of the AL and ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. As the first female home and telecommunications minister she will be in heart of the people of Bangladesh,” said the PM’s adviser adding that her sudden demise is an irreparable loss to Awami League as well as to the political camps and the country as a whole.

The PM adviser also prayed for eternal peace of her departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members of the honest and dedicated politician.
