Mashrafe mesmerized by Chris Gayle’s spin scare

Former Bangladesh charismatic captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said that T20s global star Chris Gayle was telling him (M) to keep going with the strike as he was scared about the local spinners during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match.

Mashrafe made the epoch-making revelation while he was talking on a recent Facebook Live Chat with Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal.

The live chat on Facebook brought some current and former international legendary cricketers likes of Virat Kohli (India), Rohit Sharma (India), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Faf du Plessis (South Africa) and Wasim Akram (Pakistan) along with local star cricketers Akram Khan, Khaled Mahmud Sujon, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Habibul Bashar Sumon, Taskin Ahmed, Nasir Hossain during the lockdown of the coronavirus worldwide pandemic for the fans across world.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim together with Bangladesh T20 skipper Mahmudullah Riyad was also present beside Mashrafe and Tamim in the same live chat session. He (Chris Gayle) was telling me to keep going, keep going. I was surprised by what he was saying. He was telling me to keep going, where I was supposed to say him go and hit. I have done what I could. He repeatedly was telling me to keep going, Mashrafe made the stunning words replying to Tamims question regarding his batting highlights. As a captain Mashrafe played two seasons with Gayle for Dhaka Dynamites and Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a franchise-based cricket tournament of the country. However, Mashrafe shared one of his worst moments in batting in Lords facing one of the great quick bowlers of England Steve Harmison during the 2005 Test tour in the United Kingdom (UK), where Mashrafe was bowled out by the fast-bowler in both innings. He was totally hapless with the highest speed of 156kmh of the pacer. If you say about the biggest highlight, I will then say I have faced Harmison (Steve Harmison) at Lords, he said. My gods havent you seen the batting of Courtney Walsh, it was the same situation there, he added.
