In commemoration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month 2020, EMK Center is going to present theater performance ‘Krishna Sarothi’ today at 5:30pm at EMK Center, Dhanmondi in the capital.
The play ‘Krishna Sarothi’ depicts the inferiority that women have been subjected to for ages now. It delineates a partial story of Mahabharath-the infamous humiliation of Draupadi by the Duryodhana which eventually led to the epic battle Kurukshetra.
The underlying objective of the performance is to draw a comparison of the treatment of women by the abominable sections of society as it were hundreds of years ago and as it is today. Unfortunately, few, if any dissimilarities can be noted.
The event is free for all.
