Education board of Mymensingh goes for first SSC exams

Mymensingh Education Board conducted its maiden Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations peacefully on Monday.

The exams were held in 131 centres under the board in Mymensingh  division, which includes Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Netrakona and Sherpur districts,  board sources said.

A total of 126064 students including 64171 male and 61893 female students took part in the exams, said board sources. Earlier the board authority sent all necessary materials related to the  examinations to all centres, sources added.

 “We have taken necessary preparations to hold the exams in peaceful manner and we are successful to start the examinations peacefully”, said Prof Dr Gazi Hasan Kamal, chairman of the education board. The chairman also said taking assistance from different departments including administration and police, they successfully avoided any untoward incidents in the beginning of the exams.

Mymensingh Education Board was gazetted on August 28, 2017 as the country’s 11th education board.

The chairman also sought all-out  cooperation from administration, police, guardians and people belonging  to different professions to hold examinations in a free and fair  manner.

Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Khondoker Mustafizur Rahman, board chairman Prof Dr Gazi Hasan Kamal and Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Md Mizanur Rahman visited some SSC centres in Mymensingh city.
