Oracle celebrates 20 years in Bangladesh, opens new office

US based tech giant Oracle yesterday celebrated 20 years of serving public- and private-sector firms in Bangladesh by opening a new office  in the country, the company said in a press statement.  The launching ceremony of the Oracle’s office and the celebration of the company’s 20-year in Bangladesh was held at a hotel in the capital yesterday.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended the function as the chief guest while State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present in the function as guest of honour, said a press release. US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R. Miller, Regional Managing Director of Oracle ASEAN Cherien Varghese; Managing Director, South Asia Growth Economies & Vice President of Cloud Platform Group, Oracle Amit Suxena; and Managing Director of Oracle Bangladesh Rubaba Dowla, among others, attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said Bangladesh has leapfrogged economic growth with 8.15 per cent GDP growth in the last fiscal year which was the highest in the Asia Pacific. He appreciated the initiative taken by Oracle while working with organisations across the country to help them transform and harness the growth.
