The ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed early Friday after seven hours of disruption caused by dense fog.
Abu Abdullah Rony, manager Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corpopration(BIWTA) at Aricha ghat said they kept suspended ferry services on the route from 10:30 pm to 5:30 am due to poor visibility caused by thick fog.
Fifteen ferries remained stranded on both sides of the river, said the official.
A five-kilometer long tailback was seen on both sides of the river due to the suspension of ferry services, causing immense sufferings to the commuters.
