Ruman Sana wins triple gold in XIII SA Games in Nepal

Country’s famed archer Ruman Sana said it was the best year in his illustrate ten years career as well as the country’s archery as Bangladesh won all ten gold medals in archery in the ongoing South Asian Games.


He was speaking to the press after winning the gold medal in the men’s recurve singles event of the South Asian Games archery.

Bangladesh won all ten gold in the South Asian Games Archery which was the record in the history of country’s archery.

“Yes it’s a best year in my ten years career as well as for the country’s archery……. now my main dream will be to win medal in the Olympic,” said the country’s top archer in his immediate reaction after winning the gold.

He said: “Now I have my entire plan with Olympic and I have to toil hard more before going to the Olympic.”

He also thanked the archery federation, his coach, his team mates and Ansar and VDP by saying that as if they able to keep support on him, it would be possible for him to do something good in the Olympic.

Replying to a question, Ruman said it was mercy of Almighty as he did not expect all ten gold medals in archery rather it was his behind the expectation.

Responding to another quarry Sana said, his coach’s contribution on him cannot be said in a word as if he was not  there it was not be possible for him as well as archery team to come in this stage. German coach Martin Frederick is looking after the archery team for last three years and he will stay here till 2022.

Sohel Rana who won gold medal in the men’s compound singles, in his immediate reaction said: “Archery is my passion.”

After winning the gold he expressed his relief by saying that he finally able to contribute to country’s triumph in the regional Games.

The archer hailed from Chapainawabganj said he is a proud member of Bangladesh Army and toiled hard to come in this stage.

Soma Biswas who won the day’s first gold in the women’s compound singles event said it’s hard to believe that she finally won gold for the country.

“I even did not dream that I will play final and win gold in the SA Games,” said the overwhelmed Soma in her immediate reaction,” … still I can’t believe.”

The stand in player of the team Soma informed that she was in confused whether she would be able to take part in the SA Games as she sat for the examination on December 1.

She also thanked her coach as the coach’s contribution helped her to take in this stage.

A proud Soma said she has played for the country and she is very much grateful to the Almighty.

Eiti Khatun who won another gold in the women’s recurve singles event, said: “My target was to win gold in this event which I have achieved finally.”

Eiti said she was able to play naturally and tension free as everyone was supporting her during the play.
