Tickets of BPL opening ceremony go on sale Friday

Tickets of the grand opening ceremony of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which features a concert, will be available from Friday at the ticket booths of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.

Apart from the booths, tickets will be he available at The Westin Dhaka (Gulshan), Fahim Music (Banani) and Cafe Eden (Gulshan). For the online buyers, the tickets are available at shohoz.com, paypoint.com.bd and gadgetbangla.com.

The seven-team special edition of the most prestigious T20 event of the country named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will kick off on Wednesday (December 11) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Along with the top Bangladeshi cricketers, many international cricket stars will show their cricketing prowess at the event.

Some 8,000 tickets for the gala opening ceremony of the Bangabandhu BPL 2019 scheduled for Sunday (December 8) at the home of Bangladesh Cricket will be released from Friday.

Of the total tickets, 3,000 will be distributed among the club officials, former cricketers and government authorities and other authorities as complementary. It means the BCB will actually sell only 5,000 tickets for the general spectators.

Sheikh Sohel, chairman of the BPL governing council, told media that they start selling tickets for the opening ceremony and concert for 8000 spectators on Friday.

“We’re arranging this programme for only 8000 people. We’re erecting a big stage in the outfield which means we’re unable to open every gallery for the spectators,” he said.

Sohel also said Bangladesh rock star James will perform in the event along with Momtaz. Besides, Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher will perform in the event.

Prices of ticket are: On-ground seating – Tk 10,000.00, Grand Stand- Tk 2,500.00 and Club House -Tk 1,000.00 each.
