Young Sylhet Division fast bowler Ruhel Mia claimed another fifer in the second innings after Chattogram suffered humiliating defeat in sixth round of the ongoing NCL Tier 2 match at Saheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura yesterday.

The right-arm pacer bagged 13 wickets in total to wrap up Chattogram in just two days to secure emphatic nine-wicket victory for Sylhet.

Opting to field, Ruhel Mia tore apart Chattogram's batting line-up in their first knock picking up eight wickets to give Sylhet a massive command on day one. The brilliant spells of Ruhel 14.1-4-26-8 saw hapeless Chattogram folded for 106 runs in 35.1 overs.

Later on, Chattogram fast bowler Irfaan Hossain though bagged six wickets to bowl out opposition for 230 runs in their first knock, but the 124-run lead in the first innings was more than enough for Sylhet to win the encounter quite convincingly after Chattogram once again bundled out for 165 runs in the second knock to set a small 42-run target for Sylhet. Chattogram batsman Sadikur Rahman and Irfan Shukkur's 62 and 66 runs respectively overshadowed by the performance of Ruhel who picked up five wickets in the second knock.

Sylhet reach the target in 5.5 overs with nine wickets remaining.

Metro vs Barishal

Riding on Shamsur Rahman's 90 and Marshal Ayub's 85, Dhaka Metro made a solid reply in their innings to finish day two 225 for 2 at the Shaheed Abdur Rab Serniabat Stadium in Barishal yesterday.

Asked to bat, Fazley Rabbi hit 141 for Metro while Salman Hossain and Moin Khan scored 72 and 75 respectively that helped post Barishal 414 all out in the first knock. Taskin Ahmad picked up for wickets for Metro. Mohammad Ashraful sat out for Barishal in this round.

In Tier 1 match between Dhaka and Khulna Division at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna, solid batting display by Anamul Haque (50), Tushar Imran and Quazi Nurul Hasan who remained unbeaten on 75 and 56 runs respectively placed Khulna on a driving seat after day two. Khulna scored 253 for 3 followed by Dhaka Division’s 279 all-out in the first knock.

Taibur Rahman smoked 110 for Dhaka Division while Abdul Majid and Shuvagata Hom scored 66 and 60 respectively.

Abdul Halim claimed a fifer and Ziaur Rahman took four wickets for Khulna.

In another Tier 1 match between Rajshahi and Rangpur Division at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Avishek Mitra (67) and Forhad Hossain’s 75 put Rajshahi in a balanced position after day two. Earlier in the first knock, Shohrawardi Shuvo hit 105 while Ariful Haque scored 57 to help post Rangpur 274 all out in the first knock.

Delwar Hossain picked up four wickets and Mohor Sheikh Antor claimed three wickets for Rajshahi.

Rajshahi finished day two 224 for 5. Ariful Haque bagged three wickets for Rangpur.
