Tigers failed to impress with the bat in the first innings of the first Test of two-match series against India as they tumbled for 150/10 in 58.3 overs.

Mohammad Shami bagged three wickets conceding 27 runs only while Ishant Shrma, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped two wickets each.

Left-handed batsman Imrul Kayes, who returned to the playing XI after a year, failed to utilise the opportunity. He has been vulnerable since the start of his innings.

Imrul missed the first delivery that he faced off Umesh Yadav horribly. The ball was to the line of the middle stump. Imrul stepped up to defend it but manifested only his wrong timing. But he was lucky enough as the ball passed just over the middle stump.

However, the southpaw fell after posting only 6 runs on the board. Umesh delivered another length delivery and Imrul managed only an outside edge to the gully where AjinkyaRahane took a regulation catch.

Shadman Islam, the other opener, followed him shortly. It was a fuller delivery from Ishant Sharma. Shadman went to drive away from his body but there was no foot movement from him. Wriddhiman Saha did not miss a dolly.

The third wicket fell when Mohammad Mithun missed a good length delivery off Mohammad Shami to his pad. The umpire didn’t think twice to give an lbw. Before going to the launch break, Bangladesh lost three wickets in 63 runs.

The batting woes of the Tigers continued as they lost four wickets in the second session adding only 42 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul looked good in the fourth wicket stand. But they only posted 68 in the partnership.

Mominul fell for 37 off 80 balls. He was hunted by RavichandranAshwin who had taken 13 wickets in the only Test at the venue previously. Mominul misjudged the turn and lost his stumps.

Mahmudullah Riyad followed him after a 30-ball stay in the middle to amass only 10 runs. He was the second prey of Ashwin.

The sixth and seventh wickets - Mushfiqur Rahim and MehidyHasanMiraz- fell to Mohammad Shami. The right-arm pacer pulled off two wickets in two successive deliveries, which made Bangladesh fall into big trouble in the game. Mushfiqur posted 43 off 105, which was the highest individual score for the Tigers in their first innings of the game.

Tigers lost seven wickets in 140 runs before going to the Tea break. Right after coming to bat after the Tea, Liton Das fell to the very first delivery of Ishant.

Eventually, the Tigers tumbled for 150/10 in 58.3 overs.
