Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy yesterday inaugurated ‘Nagad account in one minute’ service connecting ‘Porichoy’ app with Bangladesh Post Office's mobile financial service Nagad.

Joy inaugurated the service at a function held at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications at the secretariat in the capital.

The service has been opened in order to make financial service quicker and safer for the people across the country through connecting Nagad, a digital financial service provided by Bangladesh Post Office, with another new mobile apps “Porichoy” for getting the account service in a minute.

Earlier, it took five days for verification of national ID of any mobile account which is now possible just in one minute using ‘Porichoy’ app.

“But now it will take just one minute for verifying any NID to identify any particular person for installing the service,” according to the officials.

He also inaugurated commemorative postage stamps marking the World Post Day, web-based online, ISBN and BARCODE services by Archive and Library Department, Telipay service of Teletalk, and new laptop and mobile phone of Bangladesh Telephone Shilpa Shangstha (Tesis).

Posts and Telecommunications Division Minister Mustafa Jabbar, secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas and Nagad’s managing director Tanvir Mishuk were, among others, present.
