While Yuzvendra Chahal, Rashid Khan, Adam Zampa, Shadab Khan, Adil Rashid, and Ish Sodhi were dominating the spectrum of the world cricket with their (leg-spin) magic, Bangladesh are then searching a leg-spinner to add to their current bowling battery.

In such a situation, the emergence of the leg-spinners is considered most valuable for teams. And for this reason, all the teams have included one or more leg-spinners in their respective squad to increase their bowling variations. Even they have leg-spinners in their back-up arsenal. Only Bangladesh was exceptional team, who had no leg-spinner in the squad and played all the big tournaments and series without leg-spinner.

The way Bangladesh embarked on their World Cup campaign in the United Kingdom (UK), they could not finish it due to their bowling performance. And then, the matter of a leg-spinner came to the fore that Bangladesh have an urgent need to explore one or more leg-spinners and make them ready before the next World Cup.

This time the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors picked a leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob for the Chattogram phase of the ongoing tri-nation series and got down in the series-final confirming match against Afghanistan. The rookie bowler stunned all with his accuracy and grabbed two wickets on his Twenty20 debut and justified his selection as a future prospect of Bangladesh. Aminul Islam, a lad of BKSP, is happy to make his debut in such a way.

“It’s a dream to all the players that he or they will play in international cricket once. I feel that I am playing international cricket. I could have represented the country,” said Aminul Islam Biplob, who follows Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa and South African retired leg-spinner Imran Tahir.

“Since my childhood I have been watching the games of those are now playing with them. I feel proud of it, that’s all right now,” Biplob told media at the portico of the Radisson Blu in Chattogram at his first press meet after stepping into the national fold.

When asked about his first day experience, the new find of Bangladesh player said that he was somewhat nervous but Shakib bhai and Riyad bhai advised him to try to bowl in right areas having normal like the other time what he does.

“I was a little bit nervous while I went for bowling. At that moment, Shakib bhai told me to try to bowl the way I bowl normally. And Riyad bhai told me to bowl in right areas. I just tried to do it. By the grace of Allah, it has been better,” Biplob said.

“Both Shakib bhai and Riyad bhai told me that it will be enough for a leggie to bowl in right areas and then it’s possible to do well. Reading batsmen, I will try to bowl well, Inshaallah, it’ll be better for me,” he added.

The leg-spinner said that he is now trying to continue what they suggested me to do in the games.

“I was somewhat nervous in the initial stage of the match. But when so many experienced men were supporting me, by saying what is done and what will not be done. Don’t worry. Then confidence comes automatically. I am just attempting to continue it,” he viewed.

He said that he is preparing himself learning from Waheedul Sir and Sohel sir after being recuperated from shoulder niggles what he received after four matches of the premier league.

“Actually I start bowling at the beginning of my career. But a big gap has been made in my bowling because I could not bowl due to my shoulder injury what I sustained during the premier league,” he informed.

It’s a bad news for him that he once again got injured on his left-hand where he got stitches  that made a concern of playing his next games against Afghanistan in the port city before the final of the tri-series.

“A ball from Hamilton Masakadza hit his hand. I tried to save it but it struck in my hand during fielding. Now I feel well, by the grace of Allah. The pain has been reduced mostly. Now I’m doing what physio suggested,” he told media to inform his update when he was asked his bandaged hand.

Aminul has a long way to prove him as he is yet to make him as a full-fledged leg-spinner. Stock ball and accuracy are the main strength of his bowling. He developed his pace in the meantime.
