Newbie actress Adhora Khan is going to take part in an event organised by Sightsavers--an international charity working to prevent avoidable blindness, support equality for people with disabilities and advocate for change--at the National Press Club in the capital on Sunday.
Excited Adhora informed that at the invitation of Sightsavers, she will deliver speech as a special guest at the event, where an action plan to implement the ‘Disability Protection Act 2013’ will be discussed. DhakaLive has news that Adhora has received an invitation letter from the organiser recently and gave her consent to be a special guest at the event.
The actress said about taking part in the event, “It is really an honour for me to be invited as a special guest at a programme hosted by such an international organisation like Sightsavers. As a young artiste who has just started her showbiz journey a few days ago, it is a great achievement for me.”
Working in more than 30 countries worldwide, focusing on Africa and Asia, Sightsavers works with partners in developing countries to treat and prevent avoidable blindness, and promote equality for people with visual impairments and other disabilities. Currently working in 16 districts, the organisation has been working in Bangladesh since 1973. l
