Prize giving ceremony of Walton The Independent Cricket World Cup 2019 Online quiz competition was held yesterday at Beximco Media Complex in the capital yesterday.

The Independent ran the quiz competition in two phases during the Cricket World Cup. The first phase took place from May 30 to June 22 and the second phase between June 23 and July 15. Like previous occasions Walton Group sponsored the quiz competition and awarded lucrative products of the company to the winners who participated from different part of the country. This time the Walton Group ran ICC Cricket World Cup in 19 national dailies simultaneously.

The Independent Executive Editor Shamim Abdullah Zahedy and Walton Executive Director Humayun Kabir handed over the prizes to the winners. Shajjad Hossain, CFO The Beximco Media, and Asish Ghosh Saikat, chief news editor of Independent TV, were also present on the occasion.

Md Mostofa Kamal of North Kafrul, Dhaka and Kamruzzaman of West Shewrapara, Dhaka have earned the distinction of winning the first prize in the first and second phase respectively. Kamal won a refrigerator (201 Ltr), while Kamruzzaman clinched a LED TV (W43).
