No banknote with PM’s image: BB

Photos of Tk 100 banknote with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s image circulating the social media websites are fake, says Bangladesh Bank (BB) official.

]The BB has released no new banknote containing the PM’s image, BB spokesperson Anwarul Islam told The Independent.

Images of Tk 100 note with PM’s image are fake, he added.

At present, paper notes available in the country contain Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s picture, Islam said adding the central bank has taken no decision to release new notes with PM’s image yet.

Currently, notes of Tk 1, Tk 2, Tk 5, Tk 10, Tk 20, Tk 50, Tk 100, Tk 500 and Tk 1000 are available with none of them contains the PM’s image.
